TOPIC: THE TONGUE OF AN UNSANCTIFIED CHRISTIAN

TEXT: JAMES 3:6-12
6. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12. Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

KEY VERSE: PROVERBS 12:19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Many believers engage in lies and corrupt speech, including reputable ministers of the gospel. Imagine these people you honor and wish to be among them, you now see some imperfection, lies, anger among them, then, their glory is destroyed.

Be perfect because you are the eye of people. Isaiah showed you his own case that as a minister, a prophet, he had unclean lips. But the Lord sanctified him. So, you too, the Lord will sanctify you.

Another person was Abraham. God chose him and made great promises to him, but he became afraid of death to the point of lying that his wife was his sister. Workers, ministers of the gospel speaking lies! Oh, Jesus, destroy it in their lives. Let the blood of Jesus purge it out of their lives.

See Sarah, lying between her and God! She said God was not telling the truth; to defend herself. This self-defense is terrible to the point that she denied the revelations and the voice of God on her it. No, I did not lie; I did not say it like that. God said, ‘By this time next year, Sarah shall embrace a son.’

And Sarah laughed! ‘Why is Sarah laughing saying, can an old woman like me and an old man like Abraham give birth to a child? Why is Sarah saying so? I am God. Is there anything too difficult for me?’ Instead of Sarah to keep quiet, that thing that moves people to tell lies moved her. Come, Sarah, why did you not keep quiet? It is the power of lie, the inbred sin.

Adamic nature, even when you have come to God, even when you have been given a prominent position, it is still making you to tell lies. ‘No, I did not say so.’ Who told you that you should speak? Self-justification! The Lord said, No, you said so.

Sarah was convicted. Without conviction, how will your sins be forgiven? This thing that you are always denying, how will your sins be forgiven? How can you then be cleansed?

Thought for the day: An unsanctified tongue will destroy your glory

Song for the day: Take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to Thee

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
