TOPIC: DECEPTION OF THE HEART

TEXT: JEREMIAH 17:9-10

KEY VERSE: JEREMIAH 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?

From the text, the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it? You have a heart but your heart can deceive you. Your heart can tell you all is well, when actually all is not well. Your heart can be excusing you, saying I am not involved.

Before I came here, I already examined myself, I already settled myself, so nothing is happening to me. I am not part of what they are saying. It is a deceit. That is what the heart can do. As a result, instead of paying attention and speaking like the psalmist, ‘Examine me O Lord and know my ways and see if there is any wicked thing in me.’

You will now say, ‘God you know I have settled with you so I don't have any problem.’ Instead of saying, “That which I know not, teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more.” No, your heart deceives you and says, ‘Which iniquity?’ Deception of the heart.

Many go to hell and wonder why they are there because their hearts deceived them. Do you think that people in these churches where the sound truth of God is not taught, know that they are sinners? Do you think that their pastors themselves know that they are not on the right way?

Many of them, even with sin in their lives, their hearts have been put in a condition that says they are fit for heaven. That is why when you talk about knowing Jesus, they respond, “Which Jesus? I know Him, I love Him. He died for me, yes, I am a Christian.” But as you look at the person saying that he is a Christian, he is not near the kingdom of God but the heart has deceived him.

Do not serve God with a deceived heart. Instead of allowing God to search you, accepting your sins and the revelations of God about you, you will say, “No. I am not the one” and the time of your cleansing passes away.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
