TITHE AND OFFERINGS

God's blessings shall follow you, for taking the time to study.

TOPIC: TITHE AND OFFERINGS

SUNDAY OCTOBER 8TH

TEXT: MALACHI 3: 8-12

Key verse: Malachi 3: 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Tithe is one tenth of all your earnings and this is to be given to God in appreciation of His kindness and blessings upon you. It is God's demand over all men on earth, just as the Government demands tax from its citizens. Tithe is expected from salaries, wages, dividends, interests, farm produce and all earned income. Note that tithes are not paid over gifts. What you give to God from gifts received is offering. If anybody chooses to pay tithes of gifts received, he is free, for some give God more than one tenth of their earnings as their personal commitment.
Offerings are what you bring to God in your freewill to promote His worship and service among men. The percentage is not defined as in tithes you determine by yourself how much to bring as offering, in the case of your earned income. Some erroneously believe and teach that payment of tithes does not apply to New Testament believers. Let such know that one of the functions of God's priests is to collect tithes from the people of God. Melchizedek collected tithes from Abraham because he was the priest of God.
The Lord Jesus today is a priest after the order of Melchidezek and collects tithes from us believers who are children of Abraham. Tithe payment did not start with the commandment of Moses but had been in practice before it, and so was not abolished with the law in Christ. It was the addition to this practice that were enacted during the law of Moses that were abolished in Christ. Believers today continue to pay tithes to God through Christ our High Priest. Not to do so is to sin and incur the wrath of God.

Thought for the day: Tithe is one tenth of all your earnings and it should be given to God in appreciation of His kindness and blessings upon you.

Song for the day: Give, it shall be given unto you…

Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 39-40; Philippians 4

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
