TOPIC: I RESIGNED FROM WORK TO DO THE HOREMOW ASSIGNMENTS
TEXT: PSALM 1105: 1-5
SATURDAY OCTOBER 28TH
Key verse: Psalm 105:4 Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face evermore.
I am Sister Affi Susan Chris from the Cross River State chapter. I want to testify of some of the many benefits I have received through doing the divine assignments. I received a great challenge during a prayer conference when I heard an inspiring testimony about the need to take the divine assignments seriously. I made up my mind to resign from my work to enable me to concentrate on my spiritual life. When I returned home, I resigned as a class teacher and asked my mistress to employ someone else because I wouldn’t want to allow caring for my earthly needs to jeopardize my hopes for eternal life. The proprietor was perplexed and pleaded with me not to do so but my mind was already made up.
After my resignation, I faced the assignments squarely and I was able to read three of the books. One afternoon, I received a call from my Madam and I rushed to the school with my husband because we thought there were issues about our children. On getting there, the proprietress began to plead that I should resume work because many parents had begun to withdraw their children from the school and others were set to do so since I was no longer working there. They told them plainly that my presence there as a teacher was the reason why they enrolled their wards in that school and that since I was no longer working there, they were going to look elsewhere. She lamented that the prayer lives of the students had dropped and that I should return to help build the school.
While I was conversing with her, someone was pleading with my husband outside to ask me to return to the school because parents were threatening to withdraw their children from the school because of my absence. As my husband walked into the proprietress’ office, I told him, “Honey, please I need to return here to continue work” and he responded, “Ah! Praise God! I came in to tell you that someone pleaded with me outside to ask you to return to work.” So, I returned to my place of work and they were jubilating; hugging, and embracing me to the glory of God. Parents and guardians were happy and some even prayed for me.
Thought for the day: Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in you always.
