ISAAC THE CHILD OF COVENANT

God's blessings shall follow you, for taking the time to study.

TOPIC: ISAAC THE CHILD OF COVENANT

TEXT: GENESIS 17: 15-21

TUESDAY OCTOBER 31ST
Key verse: Genesis 17: 21 “But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee in this set time in the next year”
God’s call of Abraham began a new chapter in God’s purpose to restore His relationship with humanity. The sin of rebellion had broken that relationship. God knew that mankind would so desperately need it back so He looked for a person who could serve this purpose. God wanted a man who would know and trust Him completely. From this man would come a family who would know, teach, and follow the Lord’s plans, a distinct nation of people. They would reject the ungodly way of other nations and fulfill God’s plans. From this nation would come, Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.
God found Abraham righteous to fulfill this plan. Abraham needed to get out of his country, his kindred, and his father’s house to a land that God would show him. There, God will make him a great nation and will bless him and make his name great and he shall be a blessing. Abraham needed a child through which this promise would be fulfilled. Abraham thought it would be through Eliezer of Damascus, his servant, or through Ismael, the son he got through Hagar, Sarah’s housemaid, but God still insisted it would be through Sarah his wife.
Genesis 17:19 “And God said Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed, and thou shall call his name Isaac and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.” Here God clearly confirmed that the covenant was neither with either Eliezer nor with Ismael. Isaac was the line through which the seed of the woman, Jesus Christ, would emerge. From Isaac, we had Jacob, and thereafter Judah. Jesse, David and after carefully guided lineage, Jesus Christ came forth. Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”

Thought for the day: Jesus is the name above all names

Song for the day: Jesus is the sweetest name I know…

Bible reading for the day: Jeremiah 29-30; Titus 1

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
