TOPIC: THE BELIEVER IN CHRIST SHOULD DO RESTITUTION WHERE REQUIRED
TEXT: Genesis 20:1-14
KEY VERSE: Ecclesiastes 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

The believer’s restitution involves righting the wrongs done in times of ignorance and disobedience. This may be in marriage, in documents, in relationships with others and so on. Although the Bible says “if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, all things become new,” but do your neighbors pass away? Do the offices you worked in pass away? Certainly not! Remember that you did something evil to your neighbors and because of that you are no more in talking terms with them. Now that you are born again, you are not in that lifestyle anymore. You need to go and say “sorry.” You need to go and seek reconciliation. You need to go and confess to those that you wronged, “oh, that thing I did to you was bad. I am sorry; please forgive me.” You need to go back to repay the debts you have refused to settle because that money did not pass away. Those things you stole, return them back to their owners because you did it in bad character and you are no more of bad character. God requires that which is past (Ecclesiastes 3:15).

Before you became born again you were wrongly married because your marriage was not according to scripture. That wrong marriage has not passed away.  You were a man’s wife but you got married to another person. Now that you have become born again, withdraw from the second marriage. Right the wrong by going back to the first man that you left through divorce. Don’t say, “oh, but the first man has married.” Scripturally, he has been living in adultery with another woman which he calls his wife because you are still his legitimate wife. Did you get employment or got residence permit in a foreign country using false documents? Go to the authorities and confess your wrongdoing. Don’t be afraid of the repercussions even if it is death or prison. It is better for man to kill you than for God to destroy your soul in hell fire.

Thought for the day: Do your restitution for personal spiritual cleansing.
Song for the day:  He has shown thee o man what is good

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
