TOPIC: WHY RESTITUTION IS NECESSARY FOR YOUR FINAL SALVATION
TEXT: EXODUS 22:1-7
KEY VERSE: Ezekiel 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Restitution is the act of righting a past wrong. It is also the restoration of what has been wrongly acquired or giving back the equivalent of what has been lost or damaged. God gave this commandment to compensate people that are hurt by our wrongdoings and in the spirit of promoting love among ourselves. John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Restitution is a deterrent to wrongdoing when one considers the pain and backlash associated with it. For instance, a pastor that commits adultery and needs to restitute to his wife and stand before the church to make confession will pass through a lot of emotional trauma and shame, apart from other disciplinary actions that will follow.

Restitution is needful for these following reasons.

(a)  IT IS A COMMANDMENT OF GOD (Leviticus 6:1-7). God in His infinite wisdom commanded it so it must be obeyed. Restitution existed even before the law of Moses (Genesis 20 3-7). God says he will require the past (Ecclesiastes 3:15).
(b)  TO HAVE A CLEAR AND CLEAN CONSCIENCE TOWARDS GOD AND MAN (1 Samuel 12: 1-5; Acts 24:16). After restitution, you are able to come boldly before God in prayers or minister to God’s children because you have a clear conscience. Satan cannot raise any false accusation against you to cause you emotional trauma.
(c)  IT IS A CLEAR EVIDENCE OF YOUR GENUINE CONVERSATION. Restitution makes people to accept your conversion as true and genuine. It also shows your readiness of our heart to obey God completely. Luke 19: 8-9. Without restitution, your salvation cannot be complete.
Restitution must be prayerfully done and under proper spiritual guidance in order not to cause collateral damages.

Thought for the day: Do your restitution in good time for the sake of heaven.
Song for the day: Is not by might … by my Spirit says the Lord.
Bible reading for the day: 2 Kings 18-19; John 6:22-44

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
