TOPIC: WHY PAYMENT OF TITHE IS STILL MANDATORY IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
TEXT: Hebrews 7:1-10
KEY VERSE: Matthew 23:23, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Payment of tithe is not limited to the Old Testament time; it is still mandatory for the New Testament believer. In our reading text for today, the scripture reveals that Abraham’s children yet in his loins paid tithes along with him to Melchizedek. The scripture says Melchizedek who receiveth tithes liveth. Abraham was promised children by God. These children of Abraham paid tithes in Abraham. Since we are children of Abraham by faith, we too should pay tithes in this dispensation of grace because he who receiveth tithes from Abraham liveth. Galatians 3:7, 29, “7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” God declared Jesus Christ as a Priest after the order of Melchizedek. Jesus Christ liveth and receiveth tithes from the children of Abraham by faith, which children we are. Hence, we must pay tithes to Him, through His representatives on earth.

Matthew 23:23, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. This scripture shows that even in the New Testament, tithing is a mandatory obligation to God. Jesus was telling the Pharisees to continue paying their tithes without neglecting the weightier matters of the law – judgment, mercy and faith. In our day, God in His wisdom and mercy has taken many people to hell to witness first-hand the condition of tithe defaulters passing through judgment. The seven Columbian youths gave an account of their revelation thus: “Each of them had a metal plate on their chest that read: ‘I am here for not giving tithes and offerings.’ When I read that, I asked the Lord, ‘Lord, how can this be possible, that people are here for this reason?’ The Lord responded, ‘Yes, because these people thought that tithes and offerings were not important, when My word shows it as a command in Malachi 3:8-10.’ The Lord told me, ‘People in this place suffered a thousand times worse than others because they know the Word of the Lord, but disobeyed it.’”

Thought for the day: Give to God what belongs to Him in tithe and offering.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...
