TOPIC: DO NOT BRING POLLUTED GIFTS TO THE ALTAR OF GOD
TEXT: Malachi 1:13-14
KEY VERSE: Leviticus 22:20 But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

God is holy. The Bible says without holiness we cannot see Him. True worshippers of God are to do so in absolute holiness and this includes bringing gifts to His altar in tithe, offering and special donations. The money and material gifts brought to God as offering must not be stolen property. They must not be the gains of lies and deceit. They must not be the gains of treachery and human oppression. They must not be proceeds of embezzlement, robbery, fraud or harlotry.  Such money is dirty in the sight of God and an abomination to Him. To bring such money to God either in tithe or offering is to attempt to make God an accomplice of your evil deeds, which is impossible. A holy God cannot be a partaker of evil. What God needs from the sinner is repentance and not using gift to court the favour and approval of God. With men, offering such filthy lucre may attract commendation and praise. Some people use stolen money to build cathedral and make huge donation to the church to the admiration and applause church leadership and they are celebrated as benefactors of the church and promoters of the gospel of Christ. What a fallacy!

Malachi 1:6-8, “A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible. And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.”

Fear God! Respect God! Honour God! Be clean and holy and let your gifts also be clean and holy, befitting the holy God.

Thought for the day: Sinner, repent! You cannot buy God’s conscience with your gift.
Song for the day: I am coming to the cross

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
