TOPIC: MAINTAINING A LIFE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS LIKE JOSEPH
TEXT: Genesis 39: 4 – 12
Key verse: “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” Matt 7: 6
Joseph rejected the appeal for sexual immorality from his master’s wife. Cheap ladies and cheap money from men will not subdue the Josephs and Josephines in Christ. He said, “How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” Some married women are looking for young boys to sleep with them. Such things could not seduce righteous Joseph. Hate sexual immorality with all your heart. Fight against it with all your strength. Pray, fast and seek counsel from true Christians in order to overcome immorality. Avoid boyfriend or girlfriend relationships in order to overcome this evil. How can I do this wickedness! Some free women are there. Some are even your relations that are asking you to lie with them! Some are your uncles that are telling you to lie with them before they give you money. How can you do this wickedness and sin against God? Satisfy God’s righteous demands, not a man or woman’s demands. How are you doing your own? Do you want a bright future? Don’t you know that you have to be involved in working out your future? You have to be involved in fighting against Satan who wants to destroy your future. You have to be involved in making the promises of God fulfilled in your life. If you open your thighs for people to sleep with you, how can you get a bright future? You will end up living your life in God’s judgment. You won’t find His favours because you will not be worthy in the sight of God. God will not give holy things to dogs!
God will never give a holy thing to dogs, and He cannot cast His pearls before the swine. If you are not a child of God, how do you hope to marry well? If the Lord gives you His child, a man of God to marry, you will cause him to lose the ministry. You will cause him to backslide, because you are not standing in Christ. That’s why God cannot give you a precious man: you are immoral, even a lesbian. God cannot give you His precious daughter: you are homosexual and immoral in your life. God cannot give you a good future. God will repent of all the good things He has promised concerning you. He will not do them because you have given yourself to iniquity. You have given yourself to wickedness. You are taking hard drugs. If you are stubborn and disobedient to parents, what good future do you have? You are not like Joseph. He was righteous and holy.
