TOPIC:
SUBMIT YOURSELF TO THE HOLY SPIRIT AND TO GOD’S WORD
TEXT:
James 4:7-8
KEY
VERSE: Proverbs 19:2 Also, that a soul be without knowledge, it is not good.
Sin
committed unknowingly is the commandment of God broken or transgressed in
ignorance. It is subject to divine penalty unless pardon is sought for it in
Christ and where required, restitution is carried out. I John 3:4: “Whosoever committed
sin transgresseth the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” Ezekiel
18:4 “Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul
of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth it shall die.” God is no
respecter of persons. Therefore, do not reject or ignore the sound teaching of
God’s word that will reveal your sins to you for your thorough cleansing and
holiness in Christ. The Lord commands this concerning His followers: Matthew
28:20, “Teaching them to observe ALL THINGS whatsoever I have commanded you.” Cooperate
with the Holy Spirit Who is willing to reveal to you all things in your life
requiring confession, repentance, restitution and cleansing through the blood
of Jesus. John 14:26 But the Comforter, Which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father
will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to
your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Value
the place of true and holy preachers, teachers and pastors in your life. Learn
from them, listen to them, acquire their Christian materials, support them and
associate with them. 2 Timothy 2:22, “… Follow righteousness,
faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
Pray as the Psalmist in your daily Christian life. Psalm 139:23,24, “Search me, O
God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any
wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Do you know that
it may be the mercy of God that has located you to become aware of these truths
right now, in order that you may repent, correct your ways and ultimately save
yourself from God’s judgment? Accept the truth of God and make corrections to
your life as necessary even if it involves restitution. It is better to face
the shame of restitution now than the eternal pain and shame of hell fire.
