TOPIC: LET THE SPIRIT GUIDE YOU WHERE TO PAY YOUR TITHE
TEXT: Luke 5:4-7
KEY VERSE: Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

In the reading text for today, Peter and his brethren followed the normal principles of fishing, toiling all night without catching anything. However, when he submitted to divine guidance from the Lord, they caught a great multitude of fishes and filled their ship and their neighbour’s to their amazement. If believers will submit themselves to the guidance of God as to where to pay their tithes and which ministry to support financially at a given time, and not be limited by the tradition of paying tithes only to the local church where they worship, there will certainly be great harvest of souls, much gospel progress and bountiful rewards. But much money and resources are wasted today because of tradition. How many of these churches use these resources and money for Jesus? How many invest them on evangelism and on the works of righteousness? Rather, they use them to lay treasure on the earth where moth and rust corrupt and where men break through and steal.

Genesis 28:20, 22 “And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will … give me bread to eat … of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.” Here, Jacob vowed to pay his tithe if God blessed him, but scripture did not tell us where exactly he paid it. He must have followed the pattern laid down by his grandfather Abraham and followed the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Believers today must be led by the Holy Spirit to where their tithes can be given to God acceptably, faithfully, and rewardingly. The belief that tithe must be paid to where one regularly worships is a tradition and not a commandment or specification of the New Testament. If tithe is understood to be a resource of God for His universal church which is one body, excesses which some churches have in tithes and offering should have been directed to less privileged churches and ministries to advance the gospel work. You must also cease paying tithes to questionable Christian assemblies; otherwise you will be sowing on barren grounds and strengthening the hands of Satan against the Kingdom of God. 2 John 1:10, 11 “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

Thought for the day: When you put your tithe in the right place, you have sowed on a fertile ground and will reap bountifully.
Song for the day: Shepherd of my soul, I give You full control, where ever You may lead I will..

Bible reading for the day:
1 Kings 16-18; John 1:29-51

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
