TOPIC: THIS IS THE LAST GENERATION BEFORE CHRIST'S RETURN
TEXT: Matthew 24:32-37
Key verse: Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming
of the Son of man be.
Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw no corruption.
David started serving the Lord at 17 years of age doing great exploits. Even before then, he was serving in his father's shepherding business. In today's reading text, the Lord says you can study events of time and know this is the time the Lord is coming. There is a generation that's the last. The generation that will not die before Jesus comes. The signs will reveal it. Matthew 24:37; But as the days of Noah were , so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
There is similarity between the generation of Noah and the present generation.
Genesis 7:6; And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. Methuselah means “after his death it shall happen.” The generation of Methuselah was to be the last before the flood. His generation ended the earth.
Enoch was not righteous when he was born. He became righteous after the birth of Methuselah. Genesis 5:21-22; [21] And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: [22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: Enoch became a preacher of righteousness after God must have revealed to him that his son Methuselah, will be the last (Jude 1:14-15). This was how Methuselah himself became righteous. Noah also was just and righteous. The baton of righteousness was passed from generation to generation.. A righteous family lineage emerged.
Genesis 6:7; And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. Methuselah received by revelation the end of the earth. Same is being told us now.
Matthew 16:28; Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. We may not know the exact time but we can know from the signs of the time. Let he who has ears hear that our generation is the last. God has announced Pastor Paul Rika as the Noah of our day to build the ark - using HOREMOW.
Thought for the day: Don't be caught unawares. Prepare for Jesus' soon coming.
