SERVING THE LIVING GOD
JUNE Tuesday 19th
Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1-2
Key Verse: Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Nigeria is known as the mist religious country in the world. Are you looking for God? Then come to Nigeria. Are you looking for great men of God? Then Nigeria is your sure destination. Are you looking for great signs and wonders? I say again, come to Nigeria. In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. The Lord knoweth them that are his. In Nigeria you have all kinds of churches. All kinds of names. All kinds of pastors. All kinds of congregation. Like the Athens, people are busy worshipping God they know not. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Paul says they have zeal but no knowledge. They worship with zeal and passion but in error, in ignorance. My people perish for lack of knowledge. Romans 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

Who are these ministers people are running after? ... 2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. They claim to be called but God of heaven does not know them. You have a congregation and pastors that are not interested in the true God, but an alternative god. Not the true gospel but an alternative. Not in the true miracle but an alternative - miracles of apron, handkerchief and anointing oil. The people are not interested in salvation but food and drink. They are not interested in heaven but the glory of the earth. They are not interested in holiness and righteousness but tolerance of sin.

In Psalm 42:1-3, the psalmist is saying my heart is panting for the living God in this spiritually dry land filled with alternatives. You've been serving, busy for God but you've not found Him. That God you're serving unknowingly, you will know Him now. Jeremiah 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me. It is not enough to know Jesus as Lord. It is not enough to know Jesus as Saviour. Children can learn and know that but that will not give them perfect understanding of God. Are you aware these things you are doing in error - claiming to worship God and you are into immorality - are you aware God has rejected you?
