TOPIC: THE POWER OF AN EXEMPLARY LIFE
JULY SUNDAY 1st

TEXT: Matthew 5:13-16
KEY VERSE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5: 16

The Lord is calling you to a life that sets good example. That life is called the life of light. You are a light to the world. You are a city built on a hill. You are a light that is lighted and put on top of the table that men may see, that men may be helped, that men may see the way and follow your life as an example. There was a testimony from an unusual source about the exemplary life of a Christian living in one of the northern states of Nigeria. A Muslim was speaking to a fellow in the classroom as this person passed by. It was in a university campus. The Muslim said if that man would come and preach Jesus to him he would believe. He had seen his exemplary life. That is the power of an exemplary life. In another instance, a children’s teacher in Sunday school was describing who Jesus was in character, life style and behavior and how loving Jesus is. As he was describing Jesus, a child raised up his hand to speak. He said, “That Jesus you are telling us about is my neighbor.” The child had a loving Christian living in the neighborhood whose life mirrored Jesus Christ. The child insisted, “I have seen that Jesus with my eyes.” The teacher understood. It was the power of an exemplary life.

Regrettably, this is not the pattern of life of some Christians. Something happened in one of the northern states of Nigeria. Some preachers organized a crusade and after the crusade a Muslim woman said, “Actually, I believe this gospel message and would have submitted my life to Jesus but I fear for my two daughters. If I become a Christian, they will definitely join me, but I am afraid they would be spoilt by the dressing of the Christian women. The nakedness I am seeing would influence my daughters and they will start exposing their bodies. I cannot become a Christian even though I can see that the message is ture.” Now, can you see the negative power of an unruly life; a life of evil.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
