TOPIC: ADULTERY SHOULD BE FORGIVEN
EVEN AS CHRIST HAS FORGIVEN YOU

Tuesday JUNE 12, 2018

TEXT: Mark 10:1-12

Key verse: Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Matthew 5:31-32; [31] It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: [32] But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery

In spite of this scripture, how many men in the Old Testament put away their wives? Not even Prophet Hosea whose wife committed adultery. That tells you it was never the practice because it was not part of God's original plan in marriage (Matthew 19:8). However, there are some conditions under which divorce is
acceptable:
1. You married and later discovered your spouse was previously married. You are
free to divorce to be free of the sin of fornication.
2. You did a marriage introduction/engagement after which your bride committed fornication, you may discontinue that marriage process if you so desire. The offence is called fornication (not adultery) because you are not yet joined together as husband and wife (not yet one flesh). Matthew 19:9 Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

This was the case with Joseph and Mary (Matthew 1:18-20).
3. We have seen instances where a man or woman embarks on “last time” love￾making with a lover on the eve of wedding. If the husband- or wife-to-be discovers, the aggrieved partner may choose to discontinue with the rest of the marriage ceremony. It must be emphasized that Jesus approves divorce for fornication, not adultery.
In the case of the woman caught red-handed in adultery (John 8:1-11), Jesus challenged her accusers: “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Who has never lied? Who has never shown hatred against another?
Who has never been greedy? Who has never committed any sin? None of her accusers could stand! This shows that adultery in marriage is as sinful as smoking,

Thought for the day: Forgive as Christ forgave you.

Song for the day: Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy in Jesus….

Bible reading for the day: Ezra 1-2; John 19:23-42

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
