TOPIC: CHILD ADOPTION AS AN OPTION

TEXT: Ezekiel 16:4-8

Key verse: Ezekiel 16:6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I saidunto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live

Abandoned children are the handiwork of wicked men. Jesus their Creator loves them and will never abandon them. Some were abandoned in waste dumps, some in latrines (restrooms) with the intention that they would suffocate, die and perish. But God has a good plan for them. He sends a Good Samaritan along who rescues them from the cold of the night and from the jaws of death. He wraps them and takes them to a social welfare office from where they move to orphanages. There, they are cared for to grow up and become somebody in life.

But there are limitations in orphanages as the children have nobody to call their father or mother. They may also have the limitation of attaining their full potentials in academic pursuit and other spheres of life. The stigma of “abandoned child” is something they may also have to live with.
But in childless couples God has provided a double-edged opportunity. On the one hand, He gives children to childless couple through the process of adoption.
On the other hand, he gives parents to the children in orphanage. This way, the
orphanage children get the much-desired parental ownership and care. This option
is also available to couples yearning for opposite sex as children.

This two-way blessing is similar to the way God used the widow of Zarephath to feed Elijah while at the same time using Elijah to provide surplus for the widow. 2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is another option available to childless couples which should not be ignored if their health challenges demand
it. As God gave wisdom for aerodynamics that makes a huge aircraft to fly in the air without falling, He has also given wisdom through medical science to give children to couples with fertility or genetic problem through IVF. Such health challenges include but are not limited to: fallopian tube damage or blockage, ovulation disorders, premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids, impaired sperm production or
function, unexplained infertility or genetic disorder.
IVF is a type of assisted reproductive technology that involves fertilizing the woman's egg outside her body, in a laboratory dish, and then implanting it in the woman's uterus.

Thought for the day: God's open door comes in many ways. Don't be fixated on one.

Song for the day: God will make a way, where there seems to be no way

Bible reading for the day: 1 Chronicles 23-25; John 11:1-17

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
