TOPIC: REGULAR FAMILY DEVOTION PART 2

TEXT: Ephesians 5:22-30

Key verse: Deuteronomy 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

Marriage was instituted by God and it is honourable. The couple are expected to promote righteousness in their family through regular family devotion and application of the truth learnt to develop their personal spiritual
lives.

Righteousness in marriage involves:
a) Obedience to the laws of marriage Colossians 3:18-19
b) Adultery should not be mentioned or thought of Hebrews 13:4
c) Both spouses should love themselves Colossians 3:13-15
d) Do not suspect each other for unfaithfulness or adultery Titus 1:15

Developing personal spiritual life involves:
a) Studying the Scripture constantly 2 Timothy 2:15
b) Praying all manner of prayers always 1 Thess. 5:15. Pray without ceasing
Ephesians 6:18
c) Morning and possibly evening family devotion Every Word of God for Daily Living should be Stressed.
d) Private quiet-time on daily basis.

Negligence to cooperate in family devotion by one of the spouses will need the support and prayer of the other. When any of the spouse fails, the other spouse should try to talk him or her back to devotion. If it is not working, the spouse should continue with his or her devotion and not cease praying for the backslidden spouse. When the children fail adolescents, the couple should continue in family devotion and pray for their restoration. If your wife does not do her duties as a wife, do what you can do and be at peace, "1Corinthians 7:29".

If the couple are not serious about bringing righteousness into their marriage, the devil would have succeeded in luring either or both of them to hell fire. But if they will keep righteousness in their marriage and also have personal devotional lives, the devil will find it difficult to mess-up your marriage.

Thought for the day: A devoted family is a united family.

Song for the day: We have come to thee o Lord (2x) ... That it might be well with us

Bible reading for the day: 1 Chronicles 17-19; John 10:1-21.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
