Holiness Gives Deliverance And Protection To The Righteous

Text: Daniel 6: 16 – 26

Thursday June 20th

Key verse: Daniel 6: 18 “Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting; neither were instruments of music brought before him and his sleep went from him.”
Holiness gives deliverance and protection to the righteous from the schemes of men and wiles of the devil. By holiness you will be protected. Suppose Daniel was a hypocrite and only convinced this king that he was a man of God, will the prayer of the king be answered? No! God will not deliver a hypocrite. The king would have been confused. “Ah! God did not save this man despite the way he served God?” Many professing Christians confuse people and give a wrong image of God to people who are not aware of their hypocrisy and insincerity. You are not on the highway of holiness but you pretend to be and the people think really you are. When mishaps come upon you, they begin to wonder why. Why is God like that? But Daniel was sincere so the king’s prayer really came to pass.
Take note of word, ‘continually’ in our text. Not intermittently because some of you are not consistent. You are there today but you are not there tomorrow. Daniel served God continually, in sunshine and in rain. The holy life is at every circumstance. Not only when it is convenient; do not say it is too difficult, let me lie here. No! Even to the point of death. By the way who has the key of death? God has it. If he wants you to die, then die. Paul said, if I have done anything worthy of death, I refuse not to die. Otherwise, the Hebrews children said, “God is able to deliver us from your hand, O king.” God delivered them from death as they continued in righteousness.
God saved Daniel by closing up the mouths of the lions. He sent an angel to care for him. That is what the Lord will do for a holy and righteous man. Holiness is a highway that ravenous beasts do not disturb the people on that way. The lions shall not roar there to disturb the people walking on that way because it is the way of God.

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
