TOPIC: TAKE PRACTICAL STEPS TO SAFEGUARD GOD’S MONEY Tuesday October 8th
TEXT: Ezra 7: 13-23
KEY VERSE: Ezra 7:18 And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.
When I was in Ibadan sometimes ago to settle some issues, a boy came to me that he wanted to sell some of the ministry books. I asked him to go to a State where I had earlier sold some books to collect the money, about fifty thousand naira only. When he returned, he told me an amazing story, that as he was coming back, a thought came to him, “Come down from the car, go into the bush and injure yourself with a knife so that blood will gush out. Then go and tell him that armed robbers attacked you and cleared everything from you.” He considered this thought for a while but finally resisted it. This happened because money came into his hand and he was alone. When money comes into your hand while you are alone, thoughts will be coming into your heart to manipulate it. Generally when you are in the church hearing the word, you will not be thinking about taking God’s money. But if you are someone tempted by money, as that money enters your hand, your thoughts will change. Then the demon of lying and sensual wisdom comes in, all because of that money.
It is a dangerous thing to keep church money. You must be prayerful. Otherwise as it did not help Judas, but took him far, irrecoverably far, it can happen to you too. That is why we say that treasurers should keep the money in the bank, not in your house, lest Satan raise up sickness in the night and the only solution to that sickness will be to touch that money and cover up without replacing it so that you will end up in hell. That is why we should be wise. Pastor, Coordinator, help these people and help yourself too. People take God’s money without the due process, implicating themselves before God and others. Many have forgotten that much of God’s money is in their hands to their damnation. You must think about it, whether the church you were in before you came to Holiness Revival Movement or as you are in Horemow, if you are given money for an assignment, check it up and be faithful. Some people are fortunate that in death the Lord sends them back for restitution, but how many are privileged to come back? Now that He said He will judge you to the spoon that bears His name, much more of a bucket you carried from church and kept in your house.
