TOPIC: BELIEVE AND BE BAPTIZED TO BE SAVED
Sunday October 13
TEXT: Matthew 28: 18-20
KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Salvation from sin is the supernatural experience performed in a sinner who has believed in Jesus and has accepted to follow Jesus with all his heart. By this experience the Holy Spirit by means of God’s word and Christ blood performs wonder in his heart and life, turning from sin to righteousness, darkness to light, the power of Satan to God and His ways. Salvation from sins is a gift of grace in Christ for all who genuinely repent of their sins and accept the Lord Jesus Christ in their lives. This experience is also called; (a) New creature 2Corinthians 5:17.
(b) Forgiveness of sins Titus 3:5.
(c) Regeneration Titus 3:5.
(d) Reconciliation with God Colossians1:21,22.
(e) Redemption Galatians 4:4,5.
Salvation from sins is a gift of grace in Christ for all who genuinely repent of their sins and accept the Lord Jesus Christ in their lives. Acts 20:20.
Water baptism is a rite commanded to be carried out on all who have repented and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. This must be done without delay. Mark 16:15,16; Acts 8:36-38. Those who have become converted to Christ and have all the privilege to be baptized in water, but play carelessness at it are into disobedience and sin. Ministers of the gospel must be prompt at baptizing their converts with water. Water baptism is not for sinners or infants, but for those that have heard the gospel and are converted of their sins and have responded to faith on the Lord Jesus. Acts 2:37,39. Biblical water baptism is one emersion into the body of water in the name of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is the baptism formula and practice carried out by the Apostles in Acts the Apostles. The phrase Baptism in the name of JESUS means baptism as authorized, instructed or commanded by Jesus to differentiate it from the baptism of John and the Jewish Hellenists said to be practiced by the Pharisees on their converts. Acts 19: 3-5.

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
