TOPIC: TOUCH NOT THE LORD’S ANOINTED (PART 1)          October Tuesday 29th
TEXT: Numbers 16: 5-14
KEY VERSE: Numbers 16:4 “And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:”
Korah spiced up his story with false accusations and challenged Moses on the way he led the congregation of the Lord. He alleged that Moses was proud and was trying to take too much unto himself as the leader. He was very strategic with this operation of trying to win the people to his side. He started out with the sons of Reuben because Moses was of the tribe of Levites and according to the birth order, amongst the children of Israel, Reuben was the first born and their tribe ought to have been in the leadership position. However, God changed everything by electing the Levites as the officers over His people.
Therefore, he started out by reasoning with the tribe of Reuben, to get them to think like him and gather a crowd unto himself in this evil plan against Moses and the leadership. He tried to spread this seed of evil thinking by indicating that Moses and his family (Aaron) had taken over the priesthood. He stirred up the tribe of Reuben with all these false accusations against Moses and by questioning them as to what they intended to do about the situation. Korah had an agenda; he was trying hard to stir up division amongst the people, a move that will scatter the congregation of God's people.
These people who were precious unto the Lord had been righteous, godly and were led by God Himself. However, this man, with a dead conscience was determined to stir up a feud that will lead to the damnation of many innocent people. Beware and keep away from men (or even women) who find faults with their leaders, people who are ruled by their carnal instinct rather than following the leading of the Holy Spirit. They speak political languages and always have something to say against God’s method of ruling His people, from such, turn away!
These men accused Moses and Aaron, questioned their qualifications and skills. They boasted they would even do a better job than Moses and Aaron if they were to occupy the office of the high priest. Such men are still in the church today; they are uncircumcised in heart, and so they always reason out the ways and methods of God using carnal yardsticks.
Thought for the day: Such men as Korah, Dathan and Abiram are still in the church today
Song for the day: The Rock that never fails, Let me hide in You.......
Bible reading for the day:
Jeremiah 25-26; 2 Timothy 3

KEY VERSE: It came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said, Lord, teach us how to pray as John taught his disciples. Luke 11: 1. When Jesus Christ came to us in the flesh, He went into the business of prayer because He was promoting the attribute of God as a prayer-answering God. He would not render that attribute idle or redundant. Nobody knew how John did it, but Jesus reveals here that the success you saw in the ministry of John the Baptist, the victory you saw in his ministry, is because he was a prayer man. John so much valued prayer. He saw the essentials of pr...
