TOPIC: THE PRAYER PRIVILEGE OF KING SOLOMON          October Saturday 12th
TEXT: 1 Kings 3: 3-12
KEY VERSE: 1 Kings 4:29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
Solomon had this great privilege and you also have this great privilege! He had offered a thousand burnt offerings! I do not think anybody had offered anything like that to God before. No one could have done something like that – a thousand animals offered and burnt before God! It cost a lot, yes, Solomon served the Lord in such a costly way because he loved the Lord. The Bible says, “And Solomon loved the Lord.” So when that special dedication happened, it touched the heart of God in heaven and He came and spoke to Solomon saying, “Ask what I shall give thee.” What an open door! If God comes today and says, “Church, ask what I shall give thee,” what will you ask as a Church? If the Lord now talks to you personally just like He did to Solomon (you love God; you are consecrated to serving God; you are dedicated to serving God) and says, “My child, ask what I shall give thee.” What will you ask? That was the privilege Solomon had, and Solomon got a great thing: wisdom that surpassed the wisdom of men who had lived before and after him. That is the wisdom he got by this open door and He got it from the Lord. Therefore, do not take this opportunity of asking God a casual thing. It is a unique opportunity. Ask and He shall give thee.
Some people are able to pray but still do not receive because they are carnal in their request. What they are looking for is to promote themselves or to advance themselves. So, God is saying, “Your prayer is carnal, therefore, I cannot answer you.”
He is saying, “Ah, these people are still worldly and when they ask Me for anything in this state they cannot have it.” If you are worldly, and unstable in heart, know that “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord” - James 1:7, 8. There are many good things God has for you as a person. There are many good things that God has for the world, for our brothers and sisters, and for our neighbors. If we are concerned, if we love ourselves and love others, if we have love for sinners, we will take up prayer as a duty. God wants us to be a blessing to others through prayer.
Thought for the day: Solomon had this great privilege and you also have this great privilege
Song for the day: Who has the final say? Jehovah has the final say
Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 48-49; Colossians 4

Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern Text: Mark 16: 17 – 20 Wednesday May 8th Key verse: Obadiah 17 “Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” God has prepared to direct us on holy service unto Himself. He tells us when the lives and services of people are corrupt because from the heart of men proceed the works they do. When people are righteous and holy, their service is also righteous and holy. Hence, the word says, make the people holy then their service will be holy, so if you accept to live a life of holiness, then the fruit of your service will be holy. So, it is very important to accept the life of holiness because the God that made you is holy; He will give you grace to be holy. You just make up your mind to be holy. Do not accept that no man can be holy; then Jesus came for nothing, Jes...

God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider  Sunday May 12th Text: Jeremiah 3: 15 – 17 Key verse: Ezekiel 33: 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel.  Receive the word that will change you, restore you, reestablish you and give you back the hope of eternal life. Come back! The Lord is pleading. Can you see the effort of God in your life? And can you see madness in your life; resisting every effort God is making. God is calling you. Retrace your ways. Follow the good old way. Go and confess those things, do not keep them. Your problem is, you want to serve God but you have not confessed your sins openly because of shame, fear and  pride which shall be dissolved in hell. That is where your problem is. Yes, you wa...
