VARIOUS WAYS OF KNOWING GOD’s PERFECT WILL IN MARRIAGE THURSDAY FEBRUARY 8
TEXT: Judges 6: 36-40
Key Verse: “Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.” Psalm 119: 37
a. FERVENT LOVE FOR THE MARRIAGE PARTNER: Fervent love for that man you want to marry or for that woman you want to marry. There is marital desire.
b. MARITAL COMFORTABILITY: Whenever you think towards him or her, there is marital compatibility and comfortability that you see with that person. You are fully sure inside.
c. THROUGH DREAMS AND REVELATIONS: You are having dreams, and not just one dream, but several dreams.
d. INNER ASSURANCE: You are assured inside you as if the Lord is laying His hands there and saying, “Be at peace, don’t be afraid, be at peace”. Inner assurance of the Holy Spirit which is the witness of the Holy Spirit.
e. CIRCUMSTANTIAL LANGUAGE AND CONFIRMATION: From the extraordinary way some circumstances arrange themselves, you can clearly receive a message from there.
f. PASTORAL COUNSELLING: You have the thing in your mind and you go to a matured believer, who as he reasons with you, you have a God-given understanding that this is God’s mind concerning your marriage.
g. THROUGH PROPHECY: It could come from prophecy. God can speak prophetically through somebody.
h. UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCRIPTURES: The Lord could speak through a portion ofr the scripture concerning His will in marriage.
i. THROUGH AUDIBLE VOICE: The Lord can speak audibly on His will in marriage.
j. THROUGH DIVERSE OTHER WAYS
Note that God is a God of confirmation. God has spoken once, yea twice have I heard it. Gideon sought for confirmation from God through various ways. First he desired that the fleece on the ground be dry while the ground be wet; next he desired that the fleece be wet while the ground be dry. God granted his requests. In fact God added a third witness. Gideon, go down to the camp of the Midianites, I am going to make you hear something that will give you a third witness. So these points mentioned above do not generally stand alone. You will always see a combination of them to give you two or three witnesses before you are sure that God has spoken.

The faith of the just man has the following sources, from where it gets its inspiration. The Word Of God: The foundation of the faith of the just, is the word of God.  The word of God is the production room of the faith which the just exercises. The faith of the just has its foundation in what God has said in His word.  Faith seeks for what God has said to stand upon.  Have you seen the promises of God for you, from the word?
