PERIOD OF SUPERVISED COURTSHIP THURSDAY FEBRUARY 22
TEXT: Ruth 3: 1-10
Key Verse: “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Hebrews 13: 4
After parental consent the courtship can start with the guidance of the marriage committee. Courtship is a period of time given for familiarization and discussion and planning for the future home and family. It is useful to unite the vision, the purpose, understanding, desires of each partner. It is necessary to unite these together, because you are separate entities. Maybe the woman had been planning all this while to build a Nursery/ Primary school. As a single lady that was her thought, but the man is planning that when he gets married, he will leave this city to another city for something he has in mind. It means that both of you are thinking of different things, you can now bring your ideas and choose which one is favourable that both of you can accept before the marriage takes place. So it is a time of discussion. How many children do you want to have in your marriage? The sister may think of one or two children but the brother may desire many children. In this present generation how do you feed them? How do you care for them? It will become a frustration at this time that women are also in service. You will say, no, no, no. it cannot be like that. What are we looking for many children for? These children, if they are not born again, our going to heaven will become a problem in itself. What are we looking for them too many for? So courtship time can unite these decisions. Because many people have been asking is family planning right? These people in courtship are doing family planning now! Of course some scientific means will be required to work this out. So family planning is appropriate to control child bearing. The medical people can advise you on the best way this thing can be done, which will not offend God, you will not be aborting children, No. it is just preventing additional children out of understanding and wisdom, not like the wickedness of Onan, the son of Judah. It is out of wisdom of understanding so that your strength for God should not be used up and you have no time to spend for God anymore so that your Christianity will not be frustrated. That is the reason for family planning. The period of courtship should be reasonably appropriate as agreed between the parties and the leadership of the church. We will not define a period because there must be flexibility. The parties and the marriage committee will define the period of the courtship as they see them appropriate.

Thought for the day: Courtship should be well handled to avoid defilement.
Song for the day: Jesus loves me, He died for me
Bible reading for the day:
Numbers 7; Mark 4:21-41

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
