GIVING TO THE POOR AND NEEDY SATURDAY FEBRUARY 24
TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 15:7-11
Key verse: “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will He pay him again” Proverbs 19:17.
God is compassionate and caring. In His commandment to Israel, He made sufficient provision for the poor and needy among them. He Exhorted the Israelites to be compassionate to the poor and to open their hand wide to them. Under the ministry of Jesus the disciples witnessed compassionate care for the poor by the Lord Jesus Christ. The scriptures reveal this. Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, AND GIVE TO THE POOR, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me. Matthew 26:8-9,But when His disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, AND GIVEN TO THE POOR. Helping the poor and needy was part of apostolic focus and exhortation to believers in the early church. Galatians 2:10, Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. The following reasons account for the presence of the poor among us. {i} Body infirmity, such as deformity, sickness, etc. {ii} Natural disaster, such as floods, earthquake, etc. {iii} Accidents of life, such as fire outbreak, etc. {v} Thefts {vi} unemployment. {vii} widowhood {viii} Sin, laziness etc. Believers have responsibility towards the poor and needy. We must remember that they are creatures of God with eternal souls. Their condition may affect their response to the gospel and continuity in it. The devil takes advantage of their state to tell them God does not exist, God hates them, and God cannot help them. The poor among us need love, care and friendliness. Always have a plan of assisting them, do not turn your eyes off those urchins, derelicts, needy and beggars around you and on the streets. They need supply of needs, recognition, honour, intercessory prayers and visitation. They need to be evangelized, to be exhorted to faith, righteousness and holiness. They need comfort and encouragement. Psalms 41:1-3, Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. Through our practical love and care for them many of them will find the Lord and shall inherit eternal life. Helping the poor is a rewarding service.
Thought for the day: Be compassionate to the poor and to open our hands wide to them.
Song for the day: Lord I want to be like Jesus in my heart 2x in my heart 4x…
Bible reading for the day:
Numbers 11-13; Mark 5:21-43

Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern Text: Mark 16: 17 – 20 Wednesday May 8th Key verse: Obadiah 17 “Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” God has prepared to direct us on holy service unto Himself. He tells us when the lives and services of people are corrupt because from the heart of men proceed the works they do. When people are righteous and holy, their service is also righteous and holy. Hence, the word says, make the people holy then their service will be holy, so if you accept to live a life of holiness, then the fruit of your service will be holy. So, it is very important to accept the life of holiness because the God that made you is holy; He will give you grace to be holy. You just make up your mind to be holy. Do not accept that no man can be holy; then Jesus came for nothing, Jes...
REMAIN BLESSED AS YOU TAKE YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD AMEN. PRAY CONSTANTLY                                                                      FRIDAY 11 MARCH TEXT: Luke 18: 1-7 Key verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Pray without ceasing. I wish My children, whilst upon earth, to live more and more with Me in “the heavenly places”. Here, there is no fear or hurry or fret of spirit. I am gratified when you wait upon Me –which waiting I always honour. My thoughts, as you wait upon Me, are impressed upon you: all that I am must be increasingly absorbed by you. It is as you wait upon Me that I give to you that sense of calm assurance which you must carry about with you always. It comes from knowing that everything you have committed to Me is being surely worked out. Yes, immerse yourself in Me –and do ...
