TOPICTHE ROLE OF WOMEN IN MINISTRY.  THURSDAY AUGUST 10
TEXT: Luke 8:1-3)
KEY VERSE:  And she said, “I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.” Judges 4:9.

There are many traditions, confusions and doctrines in many churches that have restricted the woman’s participation in spiritual activities to the point that the woman sits down doing little or nothing at all in the church. The ones that are zealous and love to do something are afraid whether they are sinning, going against the will of God or not.

Genesis 2:18  “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

God knew that it is not good that the man He has created should be alone. To match up with him, God provided him a helper that will help him in order to achieve His purpose for creating man, whether those things are secular or spiritual: a helper should be with him to achieve these things. So the place of a woman is seen in whatever the man does from the beginning. As it was in creation so it is in re-creation. As it is in the natural so it is in the spiritual. The woman goes along with the man in all spheres of life to perform along with him that which God has commissioned him to do.

Contrary to the misinterpretation of Paul’s writing in 1 Corinthians 14:34 that women should keep silence in the church, fuller examination of scripture actually reveals the Lord’s instruction concerning the active role of woman in the Christian ministry. In this regard, we can see in both the Old and New Testaments that women played prominent roles in the gathering of believers. A few examples will suffice:

1.       Miriam the Sister of Moses (Exodus 15:20, 21).   Miriam had a prominent ministry. Mariam was a prophetess, a musician and a leader. Both men and women enjoyed her ministry.
2.       Deborah the Judge (Judges 4: 1- 9). Israel had gone into idolatry which brought them under the slavery of an oppressive heathen king. Even when the Lord wanted to give Israel deliverance,  none of the men were courageous enough to lead the people of God to victory. The men requested for and submitted to the ministry of Deborah.
3.       Women Among Christ’s Disciples (Luke 8:1-3). There were women among the disciples of Jesus that served the Lord according to the grace given to them. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna and many others.
As Jesus ministered in places near to them or in the community, they would avail themselves to render service to Him and His disciples. This is called the Ministry of Help. Women can always render services as the Lord gives them grace.

Thought for the day: Woman, rise up and serve God in humility, submission and holiness.
Song for the day:   It is a great thing to serve the Lord
Bible reading for the day: Psalm 88-89; Romans 10

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...

UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...
