TOPIC: OVERCOME THOSE TEMPTATIONS AND PREPARE FOR HEAVEN. SUNDAY AUGUST 6
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 10:1-13
KEY VERSE: “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. (Proverbs 24:10).

Many Israelites did not reach the Promised Land. They fell for the temptations they faced in the wilderness. God has given us the promise of entering heaven. But today we are witnessing great backslidings among believers, even great ministers of the gospel. They are not able to resist the temptations of the world. But as many as desire this heaven and are committed to it, God will give them the power of sonship and the grace to overcome all temptations in this life. Whether it be Israelites in the wilderness or believers in our world today, what reasons account for the backsliding among those who profess to serve the Lord?

• Initial salvation was not genuine. Those who profess faith in God without the experience of genuine salvation will lack spiritual empowerment to overcome temptations.
• Impatience during the trying circumstances of life.
• Close association with and influence of the ungodly.
• The lust of the flesh.
• Lack of commitment to God's appointed leaders.
• Unbelief, leading to murmuring and wicked actions.
• Preference for the pleasures of the world more than service to God.

As a true believer, you must endeavour to resist temptations if you really want to go to heaven. It is a matter of personal decision. Temptation if not overcome will rob you of your eternal destiny. Like Daniel of old, purpose in your heart not to defile yourself, have a purposeful heart and the Lord will sustain you by His grace, the Lord will help you. “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” (1Timothy 6:11-12.).

Thought for the Day: Be strong in your trying moment of life.
Song for the Day: I have a God who never fails.
Bible reading for the day: Psalm 78; Romans 7

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
