THE KINGDOM, THE POWER AND THE GLORY SUNDAY APRIL 9
TEXT: MATTHEW 6:9- 13
Key Verse: “Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” John 9:3
When Jesus came, He brought the kingdom of God to this earth. The church as the place of His kingdom is guided jealously by God and also protects His glory because His glory comes through His power. Romans 1:18 - 21 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
After His power, then comes glory. People will glorify the name of the Lord, the Lord said, I will demonstrate My power and My people will glorify Me. God does not share His glory with any man. The church today has ignored the power of God. The power in use in many assemblies today is not of God, therefore, the glory of God has left the church. It is the power that brings miracle that will make people give glory to God. God’s glory has left the church then some strange powers have taken over. The use of strange materials has taken over the power of God. The use of apron, handkerchief, holy water, anointing oil, even calendar, for miracles is what predominates in many places. God is never glorified with the use of the strange materials in Christian Assemblies. It is unfortunate that their members follow ignorantly. Some bury items in the Altar for power, others wash their faces to enable them see into life of people, some sacrifice animals, human beings, etc. The power keeping their members is not of God. Others now worship pastors and their wives, some tap anointing to glorify man.
Thought of the day: The works of His power manifest His glory among men.
Song of the day: Send down Your power, I pray Thee O Lord.
Bible reading for the day: 1 Samuel 1-3; Luke 12:1-34
