The Siege Of Satan Over Many Churches
Friday 12th June
Text: 2 Kings 6:24-27
Key Verse: 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Benhadad the king of Syria wanted to destroy Samaria, to capture the people himself. Because he was stronger and had more army, he brought his army and surrounded the wall of the city and were waiting for anyone that would come out or for the gate to just open, so that they would enter into the city for a fight. When the children of Israel knew this, they shut their gate and no man went out, and no man came in. This went on for long and since they could not go out to other places to buy food, all their food finished. Everything got finished to the extent that even the dung of doves was sold. Can you understand the situation? It went to a point that they began to eat themselves. Two women preached a message to themselves: “The children are crying to us, and we have no food to give them. We the mothers ourselves are perishing.” So, the two women entered into agreement. They killed the first child and ate him up, but the hunger was still there. The following day, they wanted to kill the other woman's child, but she refused to produce her child for them to kill and eat the second day. The first woman needed justice, because she felt that she had been cheated. But consider this, what justice can be given to her?
The devil has surrounded the church. No way for them to come out. You see what is going on in the churches these days? In some of these churches those wanting to be leaders over them go to collect demonic powers in order to win election to become presidents over the church denomination. The devil has besieged them and has taken over the preaching. Those who are preaching, check their pockets, you will see charms in their pocket, because they are attacking one another. The pastors in their meetings are attacking one another, killing one another, poisoning one another. That is what is going on. There is a great famine of the word of God, of righteousness and holiness. No way out for these people. Satan has caged them!
Thought For The Day: The church of this end-time is in a pitiable state.
