Salvation Testimony of Sister Emilia Charles Akpan (Part 1)
Wednesday 24th June
Text: Ephesians 4: 17-21
Key verse: Ephesians 4: 20 “But ye have not so learned Christ.”
My name is Emilia Charles Akpan from Suleja zone. When I came to Suleja, I was attending a broad-way church where women wore trousers and other abominable things so I was dressing like them. I became worse as a sinner because of evil influence of that church. I started wearing trousers and leaving my head open during service. Since my elder Sister that I was staying with was dressing like that, I also followed suit. Although I have been responding to altar calls before in the village, I was still living in sin but I had prayed for God to take me to the right church where I would serve God in holiness. As a youth I hated my auntie and her husband because they were always preaching against sin and ungodly dressing.
They invited me to conference and thank God that I attended if not my life would have been worse off. At the conference I heard the message of salvation and gave my life to Christ. I felt joy and assurance that this is the place I suppose to be. I was touched by the preaching of Pastor Paul Rika and the testimonies of Mummy Linda. God has been so good and merciful to me. I could have died as a sinner. There was a certain time I fell very sick and was unconscious for 3 days in the hospital before God revived me. I faced much spiritual attack in my village in Akwa Ibom State including accidents but Gods delivered me and ensured that I encountered the true gospel and surrendered to Him on my first visit to Holiness campground.
As a sinner I was living in immorality, wasting money on weave-on and attachments to extend my hair to my buttocks. I was working, not paying tithes yet wasting God's money. I never felt satisfied nor fulfilled of my appearance but now that I have repented and thrown away Jezebel’s properties, God has made me the most beautiful girl in my family. My sisters dress with tight-fitted clothes, cosmetics and false hair while I wear big skirts and appear natural yet people say I am more beautiful.
