Salvation Testimony of Sister Emilia Charles Akpan (Part 2)

Thursday 25th June 

Text: Ephesians 4: 22-24
Key verse: Ephesians 4: 23 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”
After my salvation, members of my church began to persecute me and mocked me as 'Mummy G. O.’ They brought materials for the choristers. I sewed mine in holiness standard whereas others sewed short and tight skirts. My elder brother persecuted me much and threatened to beat me on several occasions especially whenever I attend HOREMOW even though I wake early to clean the house and do household chores before going to fellowship. Some leaders from HOREMOW visited repeatedly to plead with them to allow me serve God in holiness but they refused. 
It was not easy but I thank God for everything. At a point, the devil tempted me to move in with the man I was dating before that I had cut off from after my repentance but God helped me to resist the devil. Through holiness revival movement, I learnt how to pray, how to fast, read the bible and do evangelism as I joined in the Divine assignments. God has made holiness easy for me. Some people are afraid and see holiness as a burden but it depends on your decision and determination. I kept on praying for grace to overcome the persecutions but when it became severe, I relocated to my auntie's house who were leaders in HOREMOW. 
I started in a small way until God has now blessed me with a profitable business. I encourage youths to work hard to meet their needs because God has blessed you with healthy bodies. When we traveled for burial, the whole family rose against me for my new lifestyle but my mother took note of my commitment to prayers and bible reading because I spent long hours in prayers and meditation. God helped me to stand and to preach the word of God with boldness. I was a very shy person before but now I can stand boldly to preach the gospel. I thank God for changing my life and giving me honour in the family because sometimes they call on me for prayers.
