Be Zealous For The Work Of God

Wednesday May 15th

Text: Nehemiah 2: 9 - 18

Key verse: Romans 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
I was blessed by the story of a woman in Jos that joined HOREMOW and was serving God with much zeal. The husband said, “You must leave HOREMOW or our marriage will stop. I will divorce you in the court.” She said, “Praise Jesus! I have been looking for time to preach this gospel from place to place but I am arrested here. Did you say you will take me to court? Praise the Lord. Go and do it. Hey! What good news! That I shall be free to preach the gospel from place to place. I will fly from Jos to Lagos. Next week I will be in Sokoto. Then I shall travel to Benin Republic. I will go to preach in London and I shall see Israel with my eyes. I will go to America and stir revival there. Praise the Lord!” After a period of time, she reminded him to hasten the divorce letter but the husband replied, “Please, leave me alone.” That was the end of the divorce threat from her husband.
When Nehemiah got the burden, he went to prayer. God, it is true. We really sinned. We disobeyed you that is why these things happened. Jerusalem lieth waste. The people are in great distress and reproach. It is our sin. The gate of the city is burnt down. It is our sin Lord. We are sorry. We have sinned but God I must rectify these things. I must bring revival to the people. I must recover this people in righteousness and holiness. I must bring this people back to you. So, God grant me favour before the king. Let the vision of my heart be worked out by you and the good hand of the Lord was released upon him.
Nehemiah had come. Burden, vision and action! He came to survey the place to understand properly the situation. He went round to consider the city; the heart was on fire. He saw the reproach indeed. As he was going he was also seeing the situation of the people. His heart burnt within him. This thing must be done. This principle obtains even among the sinners: Vision, Burden, Action!

Thought for the day: When Nehemiah got the burden, he went to prayer. Do likewise.

Song for the day: We are able to go up and take the country …

Bible reading for the day: 2 Chronicles 29-31

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. January Saturday 18th TOPIC: HOW TO ATTAIN BIBLE HOLINESS TEXT: Romans 6:20-23 KEY VERSE: Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Besides the essential knowledge of the holy life of a Christian, it is good to understand the manner and process of becoming holy before God. Holiness of life is a life that has overcome sin through the saving power of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. It is a life that does not commit sin. 1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Getting this experience requires four things: 1. Know that apart from holiness, there is no alternative lifestyle for heaven. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holin...
