Corrupt Ministers In The World
Sunday April 14th
Text: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Key verse: 2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
Not all ministers or ministries in the world are good. There are corrupt ministries in the world; evil ministries. Whatever name they bear. Some bear good names but they are evil. There are corrupt ministers in the world and some of them are very famous, popular but corrupt and evil. From our scripture text, there are three things to take note of. Firstly: They are false apostles. They are not the correct apostles. Many ministers with great titles; apostles this, apostle that, are false. They not true. They are not correct. They are not original. Secondly: They are deceitful workers. All they do and say you is deceit; their preaching, teaching, books and testimonies they share to upgrade themselves are deceitful. These people use their mouths to promote themselves by formulating deceitful testimonies. Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His.
Thirdly: transforming themselves by practice. They learn it as a musician learns his music. They learn how to humble themselves, smile, say things to capture souls and show pretentious godliness in their lives. They engage themselves in learning these things but they are deceitful people. They are false. They are not original. They learn to sympathize and empathize. They learn their craft. Many years ago, a Muslim mechanic used to repair my car. Whenever I asked him how much I would pay, he would say, “Ah Pastor! I do not want to collect money from pastor. You only need to pay for the faulty materials I have replaced; I replaced the fuel pump. Just give me the money for the fuel pump.” I thought that he loved Jesus, not knowing that they have mastered their deceitful craft. I later understand that he did not change it but that instead of paying him for workmanship, you would end up paying much higher for the fuel pump. So, you will be rejoicing that you have found a kind mechanic not knowing that he is cheating you.
Thought for the day: Some bear good names but they are evil.
Song for the day: You are highly lifted up, there is no one like You, Alleluia …
