TOPIC: SCRIPTURAL KNOWLEDGE UNRAVELS THE MYSTERIES OF GOD
TEXT: Matthew 13:10-11
KEY VERSE: Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.
When the high priests were looking for false witnesses to testify against Jesus, the witnesses were not agreeing together hence the high priest said to Him, “I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God?” Jesus could not deny Himself, so He replied, “Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” On hearing this, the high priest tore his clothes and shouted “blasphemy!” He was trying to defend God. He was saying in essence that Jesus was blaspheming against God. As far as he was concerned, he thought by crucifying Jesus he was doing God a great service. That is what ignorance can do. That is what the Bible says “Had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:8).
Had they known these hidden wisdom, this mystery; if only they were knowledgeable about it. The mystery, the word of God, was in their hands but it remained mysterious to them. Knowledge is not complete without understanding. This is why the truth of scripture is hidden to many in the church even among those occupying high ecclesiastical positions. Isaiah 29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed. May the word of God not remain a mystery to you because Jesus has told us saying, to us it is given to understand the mystery of the Kingdom but to them that are without all things are written in parables that hearing they may hear but would not understand, seeing they will see but would not perceive; but not you as a child of God. All the mysteries of the kingdom should be written on your fingertips; you should know them so that you would not live in ignorance. These people were ignorant hence they crucified the Lord of glory. Believe and live by all the biblical truth being taught in this movement so that ignorance does not lead you to crucify Jesus a second time through sinful behaviours.
Thought for the day: Ask God to open your eyes to the mysteries of the kingdom.
Song for the day: Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah
