TOPIC: TESTIMONY: GOD ANSWERS PRAYER – Part 1
TEXT: 1 John 5:14-15
KEY VERSE: Psalm 65:2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

Today, I shall be sharing some testimonies among our brethren for your edification.

“I have been without job since 2016 when I resigned from my place of employment in my determination to live a holy life and make heaven. After my resignation, I began to suffer serious hardship and hunger. No food at home, no money to pay my children’s school fees, no money to pay my house rent that fell due and I was given quit notice. I was prepared to do any job but none came my way. At a time, I started working as a labourer but I later had to stop.  The hunger was so severe that I started collecting food on credit and borrowing money from neighbors. There is a song we usually sang in our unit meeting which I love so much. It says … Oh yes, He answers prayer. The Lord we serve answers prayer, only Jesus answers prayer.

I sang this song always even though I was not paying careful attention to what I was singing. One day as I meditated on the word of God, a question flashed through my mind: “Where is the proof in your life that the Lord answers prayer? You have been singing this song but you have no job to show for it.” Immediately, I jumped up and made the song my prayer point.  From that day I changed my prayer to, ‘God, prove in my life that truly you answer prayer.’ From then, I would boldly proclaim at our unit meeting that they should watch out for the wonders the Lord would do in my life. I also did the same in our chapter and combined zonal meetings. I would tell my fellow brethren that although I have not received it, I could see it coming and the Lord is assuring me that He answers prayers of His children. A week after 2018 Youth Conference, I received a call from a man and he said ‘Are you Mr. Kayode?’ I answered ‘yes’ and he continued, ‘Your appointment letter has been ready since and you only have tomorrow to pick it up before it expires.’”

(To be continued tomorrow)

Thought for the day:  Truly God answers prayers. He does not forsake the righteous.
Song for the day:   Oh yes, He answers prayer. The Lord we serve answers prayer …
Bible reading for the day:
Psalms 17-18; Acts 19:1-20

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
