TOPIC: HOLY GHOST BATISM IS FOR EFFECTIVE SERVICE
TEXT: Acts 2:1-4
KEY VERSE: Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

After you have washed a cloth, rinsed it and dried it, what is the other thing you do? The next thing is ironing to make it smooth and suitable for wearing. Similarly, after your born again experience as the first work of grace, and sanctification as the second work of grace, you need a third work of grace for a smooth and effective service in the vineyard of God. This is called baptism in the Holy Ghost.  Some people wash their clothes and put them on without ironing. It will show some roughness but they don’t mind. But some other people will not that. They want their clothes well ironed to make it look good and fine on their body. Those who know its value yearn for Holy Ghost baptism while many others are satisfied going about their Christianity without experiencing the baptismal power of the Holy Ghost. This is permissible since Holy Ghost baptism, unlike salvation and sanctification, is not a prerequisite for heaven. Only sin can hinder you from heaven and you have settled that in sanctification.  But baptism in the Holy Spirit is for service.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.  From this scripture, we could see that Holy Ghost baptism is for service. It is baptism of the Holy Ghost that would enable Jesus’ disciples carry out the Great Commission He asked them to carry out in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria, and throughout the world. Praise the Lord!  So, baptism in the Holy Spirit is not for you to go to heaven. No! You are already qualified; you are already cleansed from sin; already your heart has been made holy when you were sanctified; so it is only for service yet you will require it because it also has the accompanying benefit of speaking in tongues, which helps your prayer life.  Speaking in tongues is the outward manifestation of baptism of the Holy Ghost as seen in several portions of the scripture beginning from the first experience at Pentecost. Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Ask Jesus for this third work of grace in your life to help you render effective service to the Lord.

Thought for the day:   Earnestly pray for the baptism of the Holy Ghost if you are yet to receive it.
Song for the day:   Send down Your fire, we pray Thee oh Lord, send down the……..

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
