WORKING UNDER A LEADER WITHOUT COMMITTING SIN SUNDAY MARCH 4
TEXT: 1 KINGS 18:3-16
Key verse: “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: Acts 10: 34
God is respecter of no person and sees everyone to be equal before Him. When we come before Him our position is dissolved; what matter to Him is whether we obey and do His will. Everyone is accountable to God as to how they relate with each other. You need to be just and ensure that you do not follow the commandment of your leaders, Spouse or parent to do evil. Do not compromise because he is your husband or she is your wife: the soul that sinneth shall die. In our text today, Obadiah, in the darkest world under Ahab and Jezebel, live righteously. The common sins of servants working under a leader includes: (1) Pride: Hamman’s promotion brought pride to him. See your promotion as coming from God and be meek and gentle. (2) Lie: Gehazi lied to collect talents and garments from Naaman. Covetous gains arise when they see money in the hand of their masters. It takes revelation to discern this. (3) Slander: Slanderer comes to gain favour and speak with subtlety. Ziba brought gift to David in the wilderness and slandered his master’s son, Mephibosheth and lied against him (2Samuel 16:1-4) (4) Betrayal: Judas Iscariot got close to Jesus in order to sell Him. The same way some get to leaders to betray them. (5) Envy: Doing some good things to people with the intent to still their heart. Absalom was offering counselling to Israelites at the gate of his father’s palace with the plan to overthrow his father, selfishness (6) Purloining: Stealing little by little and by tricks. (Titus 2:10). Ensure the following is done: (i) Set God before you as the one you are serving and guides your steps in life, you will have peace. (ii) Be determined not to sin and God will give you grace (iii) Learn to bear negative things or things you do not understand (iv) Seek God’s face before discussing with the person, God will confirm if there is righteousness in it. (v) Pray without ceasing: live prayerful life and God Himself will comfort you (vi) Deal humbly, cautiously with your leaders (vii) Scarcely involve third party in his personal offences against you so that his confidence will not be affected when he comes to hear it (viii) Do not yield to co-workers’ criticism and offences against your leader (ix) Be dead to self and seek not your name and promotion (x) Practice restitution: if you have done evil go and settle it.
Thought for the day: Set God before you as the One you are serving
Song for the day: Give me the grace to follow
Bible reading for the day:

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
