HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
FRIDAY JANUARY 19
TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 2:10-13
Key verse: “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and towards men” Acts 24:16.
One of the often quoted scripture when Holiness is mention is in Hebrews 12:14, Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. Some still believe that no one can be holy. They do not understand the full implication of scriptures that warns on living in holiness and righteousness. How will you appear before Heaven and discover that you still have a little sin in you which will hinder you entrance into the kingdom of God. It is possible to live holy all the days of your life. In 1Thesslonians 2:10, Ye are witnesses and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe. Let us take our holiness to the level of God’s approval so He can confidently say you are righteous and holy. God approved Daniel, Job, Noah, Enoch and their righteousness. Let God say about you as He said about Job; Job 1:8, And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Re-read our key verse and take this matter of Holiness serious. Even when people are accusing you, do not ignore it or just take it as persecution, let God and those around you give the approval. Do not take any accusation against you lightly; you may be playing with your life. This work must be done without blemish, because of that Jesus Christ died for the church; that He might get it to himself without spot or wrinkle and any such thing? Be ye perfect, even as your father who is in Heaven is perfect. Make it a purpose of heart and duty to live without blame. You have to make it a daily plan that when you wake up, you will not sin. Do not forget that divine camera is on you. We believe you will not want God to find you with any faults. Thank God, He is faithful and is not looking for how to destroy you. His aim is to save you because this is not yet the time of destruction. This is the time of salvation. God is Holiness; He is the one reviving the people and He is doing it worldwide. Remove those things from your life and let us serve God in righteousness and holiness. Holiness and righteousness in daily living can be achieved by sound devotional life and meditation on God’s word and commitment to personal prayer.
