DON’T MARRY AN UNBELIEVER
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 10
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 6: 14-18
KEY Verse: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
Be sure that he or she bears clearly the fruit of righteousness and holiness. Make proper investigation and inquiry about this. This is a clear warning that the Lord has given to believers. Don’t go and marry an unbeliever, whatever is the greatness, the beauty, the fame or whatever quality that person possesses. In fact the person may possess the type of quality you want, or others may have made recommendation of that person to you. You have even really dreamt about that person one day. Whatever all those things, as long as that person is a sinner, an unbeliever, there is the warning: DON’T MARRY HIM OR HER! Recommended by your mother, father or friend; you finished from the same school; you have the same profession; you are doing the same kind of business, that has nothing to do with marriage. Don’t marry her. Don’t marry him. The way you look at the person he is very likely to be converted tomorrow, because he is looking very simple, she knows how to laugh, she plays gentleness, but he or she is a sinner? Don’t marry a sinner or unbeliever. That is what the word of God says. The danger of that unbeliever is that he is going to affect your Christian faith and going to heaven. What shall it profit you, if you gain the whole world, the first lady, Miss Nigeria or Miss World, and lose your soul. What can a man give in exchange for his soul?
That is why the Lord is telling you this. Be warned! Be warned! As a result, don’t make assumption that the person is a child of God because he or she is singing in the choir. Don’t make that costly assumption that the person is a child of God because he is a preacher; he knows how to do morning calls; she evangelises a lot; the man is an evangelist. Don’t make that assumption, but investigate, check it, for you shall know them by their fruits. Check their fruits, and some trees take time to bear fruits, you may need time to be sure that this is the person. The Lord Jesus told the twelve disciples with Him, Have I not chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? Be aware that as you love God, there are people that love Satan. Human beings that love Satan! They are workers of iniquity. They have given themselves to Satan to work to pull down righteousness. They are present in the gathering of children of God. Earrings are not in their ears. They are not using powder; their face is natural; their hair is natural; they don’t wear ungodly dresses. God knows that not all that gather before Him are children of God. He knows, but He says let them grow together. He has taken sufficient measures to keep His children protected.
Thought for the day: Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
Song for the day: Trust and obey

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
