TOPICTHE USE OF ORNAMENTS IS TOTALLY PROHIBITED FOR THE GODLY.  SUNDAY JULY 23
TEXT:  Revelation 17:1-4
KEY VERSE:  1 Timothy 2:9  In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.

Today’s topic focuses on the prohibition of the use of any kind of ornaments by the children of God for bodily adornment. These are satanic properties and are unfit for a true believer whose life is totally dedicated to God and sanctified for His holy use.

1.       Gold. The use of gold is prohibited in bodily adornment among true and holy Christians. Gold as an element in creation is not forbidden for appropriate uses. But gold or jewel fashioned into items of bodily ornamentation is prohibited by God. Unbelievers use this freely in their pride of life, show of beauty and greatness. The use of this in bodily adornment has connection to idolatry. But believers must avoid the use of gold or jewelry in their dressing.

Numbers 31:50, 51 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD. And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.

Gold in 1 Timothy 2:9 is the same thing as jewelry and is a compound word for items of ornamentation as seen in the passage above. These include: earrings, bracelets, chains, necklace, and rings. Beads and shining stones on clothes which make cloth glittering also belong to the family of jewelry. The scripture shows that harlots adorn themselves this way for their business. Believers must avoid shinning stones in their clothes and beads in their adornment.

Be informed that the use of wedding or marital ring came from the tradition of men, not the word of God and it makes the user unholy and damnable. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

2.       Pearls. These are precious substances used by some high standing women for show of wealth and beauty. Believers don't use them.

3.       Costly Array/ Wearing of Apparel. This speaks of the display of clothing by some women who desire to supersede others for self-glory and the praise of men. The believer must avoid high-heeled shoes and use of costly wristwatches with golden chains for human recognition.

Thought for the day:  Do not follow the tradition of men. Live by the infallible Word of God.
Song for the day:  Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty.

Bible reading for the day: Psalm 36-37; Acts 23:1-11

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
