TOPIC: THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT 

TEXT: REVELATION 20:11-15
11. “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 
12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 
13. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 
14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 
15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

KEY VERSE: ROMANS 14:12 “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God”.

The doctrines of the great white throne Judgement opens our eyes to see a time to come when all wicked/ungodly people (the living and the dead, small and great who have neglected God’s salvation) will face the final Judgement of the living God. This will occur after the millennial reign and the last rebellion of men on earth after the war. All the dead from the beginning of earth to the last rebellion, after the millennial reign shall resurrect. 

This resurrection is called the second resurrection. All who resurrect at this time shall be damned forever by God. Before this condemnation they shall be judged by the Lord Jesus Christ so that everyone should know the reason why he is being condemned by God of truth and justice. Hence, they shall be judged according to their works. 

God will sit on a throne so white, magnificent and terrible at sight that whole face of the earth and heaven (the atmospheric heaven) will tremble and flee from Him. All those who died unrepentant from the time of Adam till the time of great white throne judgement will appear before God for the Final Judgement. 

No true believer whose name is written in the book of life will face the great white throne judgement since his /her Judgement as a sinner was accomplished by Christ on the cross. 

God’s judgement will be fair, without partiality or respect of person. He will judge the small and great, the rich and the poor, the educated and the illiterate, the highly respected and the most despised. After this they shall be cast into the lake of fire: Damnation and torments of the lake of fire is known as the second death. 

The present hell fire which is underneath the earth temporarily harbours the souls of the dead sinners. When the sinners return from hell to earth for the great white throne judgement and are cast into the lake of fire, Hell and death shall be cast into the lake of fire. Satan, demons and sinners shall be tormented forever.

Thought for the day: Wickedness shall end after the great white throne judgment.
