HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW
DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR.
DATE: WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 16, 2026.
TOPIC: DISCRIMINATION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST WEAKENS THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:10-13
10. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11. For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
KEY VERSE: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:10 “Now I beseech you, by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind in the same judgment”
There is disturbing and ugly trend in Christianity today as seen in most churches. It is a trend that we must resist and put a stop to. Preachers in their bid to maintain control over people, have formed religious groups these groups exist and are called denominations.
These denominations operate under a common name and have a common identity. You can identify them by their beliefs, traditions, practices and the sins they condone. You will know them by their distinctive and often misleading interpretation of the scriptures that they share among themselves.
The trend today is that most church denominations have locked their gates and isolated themselves from the church generally. They discourage their members from having fellowship with others and frustrate other righteous preachers from mounting their pulpits thereby operating independently for fear of their members being lost to other denominations.
This practice is weakening God-intended unity in the body of Christ. It is hindering the opportunity for interaction with other churches and working together in one body. Yet, Christ is bigger than any denomination
Let it be clear that Christ is not God of denomination. The Holy Bible does not support denominations; neither did Christ or any of the disciples start any denomination. Denomination started from the disagreement of men on the interpretation of the Word of God.
Over the years, satan took advantage of these disagreements and poured out the denominational spirit on men; further widening the gulf that existed between Christians and sometimes creating disaffection amongst them, He knows that a house divided against itself cannot stand.
