The Love Of Money Will Drown You Into Destruction And Perdition

Text:  1 Timothy 6: 6-9
Key Verse: 1 Timothy 6:6 “But Godliness with contentment is great gain”
Let me tell you a story about a young man who was a member of Deeper Life Bible Church, in the 1990s or so. He went to consult with some people because he needed money, they cut his fingernails and toes nails and told him, “You will get the money.” He was taken to the riverside where they threw these nails into the river; “Wooooooo!” was a noise of applause from the river. This was a noise of welcome to witchcraft and mermaid kingdom. They gave him a woman to be a wife to him. He was a married man physically, but this second woman went with him everywhere. In the night, he will carry bags of money home, and the original wife would say, “Hey! I am afraid of this money.” Bags of money, but no life, no peace, no rest, day and night. The love of money! I tell you this because there may be somebody who is telling you stories of money and stories of connection with a rich man whose name is Dollar. It is like one of my friends in the 1990s, he was coming from somewhere with a toothpick in his mouth. He was removing something from his teeth because he had eaten at a restaurant before coming to me. When he came to me, he said that somebody had met with him and had talked with him about a big business deal. He had just finished settling with the man, to be his representative. He was going to be the one in charge of this and that. Unfortunate for him, the man was a criminal liar and a fraudster, which the Nigerians call “419.” It was God that delivered him. Reader, be very careful with money. God is the God of money, and He can give it to you in your country. Do not travel overseas to die spiritually. Do not abandon God and engage yourself in the business of money that cannot save your life. Money drowns men into destruction and perdition.
