It Is Better To Give To The Bereaved Than To Receive From Them

Saturday 14th February

Text: Acts 20:35
Key Verse: He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. Proverbs 28:27
Let those who come to the bereaved home to comfort them answer the following questions, having understood the state and condition of the bereaved well.
a) Is it the bereaved home that should supply food to people who come to visit them, or is it those coming to them that should bring food and money to support them? “Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money and every one an earring of gold.” Job 42:11
Note that the earring of gold given to him was not for his use but for his treasure. Gold is malleable, and this could be fashioned into other items for clean uses.
b) Is it proper to go to the house of bereavement to collect gifts of various items as though they organised a feast for joyful celebration? The scripture shows that giving out gifts to others marks or characterises celebrations of joy and not of sorrow. Sharing of gifts is done during the period of joy and not during mourning. Hence, distributing clothes, plates and other items is not required during the burial ceremony. Things like this are excesses that should be avoided in a Christian burial ceremony in order not to conform to the world.
c) Can the bereaved family share a copy of the Bible and Christian materials to those who come to comfort them? Yes, because the Bible or good Christian materials can produce conversion to Christ in those who receive and use them. This is the best thing to do in a Christian burial ceremony. 2 Timothy 4:1-4

For taking your time to study remain blessed. UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...

Every Word Of God For Daily Living For taking your time to study remain blessed July Tuesday 9th TOPIC: WE ARE IN THE TWILIGHT HOUR OF RAPTURE TEXT: Ephesians 5:26-27 KEY VERSE: Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Seeing the traces of the features of the next dispensation in this present dispensation, you should know that you are in the twilight hour. What is a twilight hour? A twilight hour is that hour of the day that you begin to see the traces of the night while it is still daylight (probably 7:00pm to 7:30pm). It is not completely dark, yet it is not complete bright either. While it is still day, you are seeing the traces of the night. A twilight hour is the hour when you are still in this dispensation but you are already seeing traces of the next. The twilight hour is the time that our Lord Jesus Christ was born and even though He came with the New Test...
