OBSERVE MODERATION IN FASTING

God's blessings shall follow you, for taking the time to study.

TOPIC: OBSERVE MODERATION IN FASTING

TEXT: ACTS 27:33-36
WEDNESDAY JULY 26TH

Key verse: Acts 27: 34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not a hair fall from the head of any of you.
Be careful with fasting. Control your fasting. Let your moderation be known to all men. That is the word of God. Do not engage in careless fasting. Do not be so power-driven to the point of destroying your body. There are formulas to everything in life. Whatever a man sows, he shall reap. Subject that body to an unfavourable condition and you shall reap. A particular pastor said, he had finished all his fasting! I asked him how he has finished his fasting. He explained that he went on a marathon fast as a young preacher until a stomach ulcer caught him, and so for that, he has finished all his fasting! Have demons also finished their work? Why did you finish your fasting so early? Have problems of life finished? Let your moderation be known to all men.
From our reading text, Paul said, eating was required for their health. If you always starve your body, you will reap the consequence at your later end. Some people may have an accident today without feeling the pain until after 40 years or much more later, when they go to the doctor to make complaints, and the doctor begins to ask, 'Have you ever had an accident? The accident you had many years ago is what is manifesting now in your body. Oh! If you had been wise at that time, you would not have neglected that matter. If you had treated yourself well then, the present challenge would not have come. Do you know that if you do not take care of your body today, it might be the reason for your backsliding tomorrow? Some sicknesses may come on some people so painful that they start abusing God. Is it not because of Job's sickness that the wife said, “Curse God and die?”  Although we are aware that Job was not sick because he was careless, but it concerned his body. If Job was not committed, the case of his sickness was enough to make him angry with God. What are you doing in this your early years to care for your body? Are you waiting for when you will become older and the body takes another shape because of the way you treated it to blame God? Whatever a man sows, he will reap.

Thought for the day: Avoid risky businesses that may bring ill health to your body.

Song for the day: What a Friend we have in Jesus

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...

For taking your time to study remain blessed. UNDERSTANDING ETERNITY WEDNESDAY MAY 10 TEXT: Psalm 90: 1 - 2 Key Verse: “The Lord is King forever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land Psalm 10:16 People that understand eternity are always careful. Eternity means forever and ever, it means ever-lasting, ever-living, never dying. Trillion upon trillion years, eternity is still on, in fact it is life without end. There are two extreme ends of eternity: The kingdom of God called third heaven where God the Father, God the son, God the Holy Ghost, twenty-four elders, saints of God that make heaven, holy angels of God, and entire host of heaven dwell now presently; Hell-fire, where Satan, demons, and sinners that have died in their sins are presently kept. God is the One that introduced eternity. He lives forever. It is not a choice, the One who created us is forever, hence you will live forever, but what matters is where you will live eternally. Remove God from the way, then t...
