THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF SIN

FOR TAKING YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD REMAIN BLESSED.

DATE: SUNDAY 22nd AUGUST

TOPIC: THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF SIN

TEXT:  Psalm 51:1-13

Key verse:  Psalm 130:3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

There are two kinds of sin. There is an actual sin committed which you are responsible for. It is called “committed sin.”

Psalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness, according to unto the multitude of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.

The transgression of David who wrote this psalm was the immoral act he committed with Bathsheba. He also killed her husband, Uriah. These are actual sins and he asked God for forgiveness.

The sinner and the backslider should come to God for forgiveness. But after the sinner has received forgiveness and he becomes a believer, he should take his heart back to God for sanctification.

David goes further to tell us the second kind of sin in Psalm 51:5, “Behold I was sharpened in iniquity and sin did my mother conceived me.” David was acknowledging that right in the womb he was a sinner, for all have sinned. We are all born in sin.

The child is polluted right from the womb because he is the son of Adam. He inherited sinful nature from Adam. The blood is already contaminated with sin such that when the child grows up, he naturally commits the actual sin. He starts manifesting the sinful nature which is inherited as a child of Adam.

As a child he has not committed any actual sin, hence he is not accountable. Therefore, if a child dies, he goes straight to heaven because he is not guilty of any sin known to him. His conscience does not register anything at that age.

As he grows up, he starts feeling guilt for wrongdoing. At that time, he becomes accountable. If you know what you are not supposed to do and you do it, then you are accountable for it (James 4:17).

Jesus prayed for His disciples asking God to sanctify them because of this Adamic nature in them. In salvation, you are empowered not to sin, but the inner pollution remains.

David prayed in Psalm 51:7, “Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean, wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.” This is SANCTIFICATION.

After asking for forgiveness, he went further to ask for sanctification since this inbred sin has been troubling him. Salvation does in a sinner what initial washing does to a dirty cloth. Sanctification does to a believer what rinsing does to a washed cloth.

Thought for the day: Let the believer go back to Jesus for sanctification to perfect him for heaven.

Song for the day: Lord I want to be like Jesus in my life….

Every Word Of God For Daily Living For taking your time to study remain blessed July Tuesday 9th TOPIC: WE ARE IN THE TWILIGHT HOUR OF RAPTURE TEXT: Ephesians 5:26-27 KEY VERSE: Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Seeing the traces of the features of the next dispensation in this present dispensation, you should know that you are in the twilight hour. What is a twilight hour? A twilight hour is that hour of the day that you begin to see the traces of the night while it is still daylight (probably 7:00pm to 7:30pm). It is not completely dark, yet it is not complete bright either. While it is still day, you are seeing the traces of the night. A twilight hour is the hour when you are still in this dispensation but you are already seeing traces of the next. The twilight hour is the time that our Lord Jesus Christ was born and even though He came with the New Test...
