HANDLE GOD'S RESOURCES IN YOUR CUSTODY WITH UTMOST CARE

FOR TAKING YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD REMAIN BLESSED.

DATE: MONDAY 2nd AUGUST

TOPIC: HANDLE GOD'S RESOURCES IN  YOUR CUSTODY WITH UTMOST CARE

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 8:16-21

Key verse: Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

God's resources in your care must be handled with utmost care and diligence; otherwise, you may not be guiltless in His sight. The following are the responsibilities the leaders of the church have over the finances and property of the church.

(a) Teach members on Christian giving that they may know what God expects them to do as faithful Christians. Let opportunity be created for them to give in demonstration of their love for God and the brethren.

(b) Take care of church money and property to avoid wastages, losses, unnecessary damages etc. Wisdom must be employed in the use of church funds and property.

Those to be appointed to manage church money and property must be men and women that hate covetousness; who are trusted and proven. There should be accountability and record keeping.

Ministers are stewards over the money and property of the church of God and will give account to Him. Truth, righteousness and holiness should characterize every transaction with church funds and property.

(c) Diligence must be exercised over church money and property that they may not be stolen, embezzled, misappropriated or personalized. The name of the Lord is on His money and property.

Careful consideration must be taken before taking a loan for church use so as not to bring the church of God under bondage to creditors. To treat church money and property carelessly or embezzle them shows one has no fear of God. Such a person will suffer God's judgment.

(d) Do not impoverish the people of God through excessive demands. God wants His people to have food to eat, clothes to wear and a house to live in.

Believers who cannot feed their families are worse than unbelievers before God. It is a sin for any minister to overburden the people of God with financial demands to the point that they cannot care for themselves, provide for their family, and acquire the necessities of life.

The people of God should not become prey to their ministers. Their souls should not be destroyed for material and ministerial achievement.

(e) The church must endeavour to pay its workers well and timely. God is a righteous God and will want justice to be done to everyone working in the church, from the greatest to the least.

Thought for the day: Serve God with diligence and decency.

Song for the day: Make me holy (3x)

Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Signs And Wonders Should Be According To Biblical Pattern Text: Mark 16: 17 – 20 Wednesday May 8th Key verse: Obadiah 17 “Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” God has prepared to direct us on holy service unto Himself. He tells us when the lives and services of people are corrupt because from the heart of men proceed the works they do. When people are righteous and holy, their service is also righteous and holy. Hence, the word says, make the people holy then their service will be holy, so if you accept to live a life of holiness, then the fruit of your service will be holy. So, it is very important to accept the life of holiness because the God that made you is holy; He will give you grace to be holy. You just make up your mind to be holy. Do not accept that no man can be holy; then Jesus came for nothing, Jes...

God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider

God's blessings shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider  Sunday May 12th Text: Jeremiah 3: 15 – 17 Key verse: Ezekiel 33: 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel.  Receive the word that will change you, restore you, reestablish you and give you back the hope of eternal life. Come back! The Lord is pleading. Can you see the effort of God in your life? And can you see madness in your life; resisting every effort God is making. God is calling you. Retrace your ways. Follow the good old way. Go and confess those things, do not keep them. Your problem is, you want to serve God but you have not confessed your sins openly because of shame, fear and  pride which shall be dissolved in hell. That is where your problem is. Yes, you wa...
