FOR TAKING YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD REMAIN BLESSED.

DATE: FRIDAY 13th AUGUST

TOPIC: BE PATIENT WITH GOD AND YOUR FELLOW MEN

TEXT:   Romans 5:1-5

Key verse: Proverbs 14:29. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but

he that is hasty of spirit exalted folly.

One of the attributes of God is patience (longsuffering). He is tolerant and very patient with sinners. He is neither quick to anger nor quick to judge. His patience flows from the abundance of His mercy.

Lamentations 3:22-23 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.”

God wants his children to also share of His patience. It is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Unfortunately, human beings by nature are hardly patient with God or with themselves. Any time we desire something, we want it quick and fast.

But God cannot be rushed into doing our will. He knows the best time to act and knows when not to act at all. If what you are asking for is not in your best interest, God will deny you. God will not give you a snake for fish.

Abraham and Sarah were impatient with God. When in their sight, God seemed to 'delay' in fulfilling His promise, they sought to 'help God out' as if God was handicapped. The result was disastrous for the family and for humanity.

The birth of Ishmael caused a lot of strife in the family of Abraham. Even the world at large is still groaning under the pains of the product of their indiscretion (Genesis 16:12).

Saul was an impatient king. At Gilgal he offered an unauthorized sacrifice because Samuel delayed in coming (1 Samuel 13). For his impatience, he lost the kingship.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.

There is great wisdom in patience. Impatience with people causes misunderstanding and strife. Impatience leads to hasty decision that often prove wrong with negative consequences.

Without patience, it is difficult to walk with God or operate in the realm of faith. You need patience to actualize God's promise. “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:15.

That is why the psalmist says, “I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” Psalm 40:1-3.

Thought for the day: Patience is the product of wisdom. Have patience.

Song for the day: I will love, I will love…I will love Jesus people, I will…

Bible reading for the day:  Psalm 96-98; Romans 12.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
PRACTICE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.  WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1 TEXT: ISAIAH 58:1-8                                                                                                        Key verse: “And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day”  Luke 2:37. The local church should teach and train her members on scriptural fasting. Believers need to know that the Lord expects...

The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.

God's blessings will continually accompany you for dedicating time to your studies. The Testimony Of Jesus Is Spirit Of Prophecy.  Monday 10th November  Text: Jude 1: 2-5 Key verse: Jude 1: 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. The faith of Jesus has already been delivered and it is written in the scriptures. Whatever prophecies, revelations or dreams that comes must not be contrary to the standard in the scripture. They must speak the same thing. The testimony of Jesus is spirit of prophecy. Every prophecy or revelation must honour Jesus and must be according to the written word. Even where they are new things, they must not contradict because the Bible is a summary of the things Jesus did. The Bible cannot contain all things. It must be according to what the scripture has already signified, ...
