TOPIC: MARRYING IN GOD'S WILL AND THE BELIEVER’S COMMITMENT
TEXT: Proverbs 3:5-7
KEY VERSE: Psalm 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Marrying in God’s will depends on the believer’s commitment and determination. The world is abandoned to sin and error because God is not in her way and they do as they like. When the Kingship of God is not recognized over a person's life, he does as he likes. This is so in marriage. Many have married the way they wanted because they don't know God. Jesus is not their Lord so they were ordered by some powers and they suffer for it. This has affected the course of Christ and Christianity. When God is not involved in their decision, do they have the power of good choice? They miss out on the course of God’s grace and get led astray. Only God knows how to give good things. Many are lamenting their wrong marriages and this eventually affects the church since God needs both you and your spouse to get the job done well. Unfortunately, you picked somebody you see in the open market and such person may not know God forever and be recoverable because the language and ways of God are strange to him or her. He or she is only being forced to speak the language of Christ but cannot understand deep spiritual things. Many have gone to be in-laws to Satan and demons without knowing.
There are some who have been able to seek his face well and His grace has helped their marriage. But there are still some that are following the way of the fallen man. They are still bent on their way and not ready to bring God into their marriage. This brings much troubles in their way tomorrow and gives the church a bad testimony. Some of them are people with high potential in the church, but how do they fit in well into God’s plan? Gone are the days of ignorance. Even if he or she has been in the church for several years and is familiar with the doctrine, you have brought demon that will give trouble to the church. Is the father of sinners not the devil? The world is abandoned to its own way because of sin and evil, so it is in marriages. Focus is on assessing a future partner by sight (not by faith): educational status and financial status. I must marry my class, you insist! This becomes so because pride is involved. God is not inside that kind of arrangement.
Thought for the day: If you don’t marry according to God’s will, you may become in-law to Satan.
Song for the day: Lord teach me Your will……
Bible reading for the day:
Numbers 18-20; Mark 7:1-13
